Distance Energy Work

Distance energy work offers the same therapeutic approach as in person sessions, delivered online without physical contact. The work is grounded, structured, and held in the same professional container, with many people finding it equally effective or, in some cases, more settling.

This is not a secondary option. For some nervous systems, working from home allows deeper regulation, focus, and integration without the added demand of travel or unfamiliar environments.

What is Distance Energy Work

Distance energy work focuses on nervous system regulation, subtle pattern recognition, and body based awareness rather than physical touch. It works with attention, pacing, presence, and perception to support clarity and integration.

Just as the nervous system responds to tone, rhythm, and safety in conversation, it can also respond to guided attention and energetic cues without physical contact. This allows meaningful therapeutic work to take place remotely.

This work does not rely on belief or prior experience. It is responsive rather than performative and is always guided by what is most supportive in the moment.

How sessions work online

Sessions take place over Zoom and follow the same structure as in person work. Time is taken to understand what is present, how your nervous system is responding, and what feels appropriate to work with during the session.

Distance energy work may include guided awareness, stillness, sound, or subtle energetic work, depending on what supports regulation and integration. Many people find it easier to notice small shifts and changes when working online in their own space.

The focus is not on outcomes or release, but on supporting the conditions where the nervous system can reorganise itself over time.

Distance energy work and in person sessions

Distance energy work is not a replacement for in person sessions, nor is it inferior. It is simply a different format.

Some clients move between online and in person sessions, while others choose to work exclusively online. Both approaches are valid and are guided by individual circumstances, preferences, and nervous system needs.

The quality of the work is shaped by how it is held, not by physical location.

Using distance energy work as part of your Initial Consultation

The Initial Consultation can be completed online via Zoom in the same way as an in person consultation. This allows assessment, therapeutic work, and discussion of next steps to take place without the need to travel.

Distance consultations are particularly suitable for those who are unwell, time limited, or not local to North Devon.

Recommendations for ongoing work are made in the same way, whether sessions take place online, in person, or through a combination of both.

Frequently asked questions

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different and the response to Reflexology can be immediate or sometimes take longer than one appointment, but often benefits can be seen after 4-5 sessions. Regular weekly treatments are best for the body properly beginning the self-healing process, and following an initial consultation I will suggest the number of Reflexology sessions I think we should undertake.

What are your fees and availability?

Reflexology sessions for individuals last 50 minutes and cost £60 per session. I also provide a limited number of appointments for those on low-income; contact me to enquire about availability.

Note that if you want to cancel an appointment I require 48 hours’ notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed. I accept payment in cash, by cheque or by bank transfer.

Can you diagnose my health problems?

Reflexologists cannot claim to diagnose or cure, but during a treatment we get 'feedback' as to which parts of the body are working well and which are not. Sometimes Reflexology will highlight a specific area which is struggling or working hard to maintain your wellbeing; if a particular reflex point shows this kind of reaction I'll discuss it with you at the end of the session.

What happens in a treatment? Do I need to undress?

Reflexology is performed entirely on the feet, ankles or hands, so the most you’ll have to do is take off your socks and roll up your trousers! During the treatment the client lies on their back on a reclining chair, supported by pillows and covered with a soft blanket to keep them warm.

And don’t worry - reflexology doesn't tickle! Many clients come to me with ticklish feet or worried about their feet being touched, but find they can relax and enjoy the benefits of Reflexology.

Does reflexology hurt?

You might find some areas feel sensitive to the touch, but Reflexology does not involve hard pressing in the way something like a sports massage might. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, noticing how they feel, the temperature and colour. All these things play a part in understanding which areas of your body - as reflected through your feet - require a bit more care and attention.

Should I keep on having Reflexology?

Not necessarily, but after an initial course of treatment many people choose to check in monthly for a top-up, to help maintain their general wellbeing, or as a scheduled 'de-stress'. Other clients will get back in touch if they start feeling aches and pains, arranging treatments as and when they need them.
