Bideford Barnstaple North Devon Reflexology Reiki

Restorative Sessions

A deeply personalised experience to help you rest, reconnect and feel more like yourself.

Sometimes you don't need to talk everything through, find another solution or work out what comes next. Sometimes you simply need space to stop, let go and allow yourself to be looked after.

My Restorative Sessions offer just that.

Combining Clinical Reflexology, Reiki, sound healing, hot stones and intuitive therapeutic techniques, each session is thoughtfully created around you, how you're feeling and what your body needs.

This is more than a standard reflexology or Reiki treatment. It's an opportunity to experience deep rest, gentle nurturing and a sense of being completely cared for.

Why I Combine Clinical Reflexology & Reiki

Over the years, I've discovered that some of the most rewarding sessions come from combining different therapeutic approaches rather than following one set treatment.

Clinical Reflexology provides a physical, hands-on experience, working with specific reflex points on the feet to encourage relaxation, ease tension and support overall wellbeing.

Reiki brings another dimension to the session. It's a gentle, energy-based practice that creates space for stillness, emotional release and reconnection.

Together, they offer something quite different.

While reflexology provides grounding through physical touch, Reiki introduces a quieter, more subtle element. I find that combining the two allows me to work intuitively, responding to the person as a whole rather than focusing on one particular symptom or concern.

It's this combination that makes my Restorative Sessions so special.

No Two Sessions are Ever the Same.

Because no two people, or even two days, are ever the same.

You might arrive feeling exhausted, overwhelmed or emotionally drained. Perhaps you're struggling to sleep, carrying a lot of tension or simply finding that life has been demanding more than you have to give.

Other times, you may feel relatively well but recognise that you need time to yourself.

Rather than following a fixed treatment routine, I adapt each session to you.

Depending on your needs, your session may include:

  • Clinical Reflexology: Specialist hands-on techniques to encourage relaxation and support physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Reiki: Gentle energy work to create a sense of calm, balance and reconnection.
  • Hot Stones: Comforting warmth to deepen relaxation and provide an additional sense of nurturing.
  • Sound Healing: Carefully chosen sounds and vibrations to encourage stillness and a peaceful, restorative experience.
  • Intuitive Therapeutic Care: Drawing on my experience, observations and intuition to bring everything together in a way that feels right for you.

Not every session will include every technique. The beauty of this approach is that nothing is prescribed or forced.

Your session unfolds around you.

Time to be Looked After.

For many women, particularly during perimenopause, menopause and the changing demands of midlife, life can become an endless cycle of responsibilities, expectations and looking after everyone else.

Restorative Sessions offer an opportunity to step away from all of that.

There's nothing you need to achieve, no pressure to talk and nothing you need to work through.

You can simply arrive as you are.

Some clients enjoy the peaceful stillness of their sessions. Others experience a sense of emotional release or leave feeling lighter, calmer and more connected to themselves.

What matters most is that, for this time, your wellbeing comes first.

What can Restorative Sessions Support?

People choose Restorative Sessions for many different reasons, including:

  • Stress, overwhelm and difficulty switching off
  • Poor sleep and feeling constantly tired
  • Emotional tension and mental exhaustion
  • The changes and challenges of perimenopause and menopause
  • Feeling disconnected from themselves
  • A desire for relaxation, rest and regular self-care

You don't need to be experiencing a particular problem to benefit from taking time for yourself.

Sometimes the most valuable thing you can do is give yourself permission to rest.

Frequently asked questions

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different and the response to Reflexology can be immediate or sometimes take longer than one appointment, but often benefits can be seen after 4-5 sessions. Regular weekly treatments are best for the body properly beginning the self-healing process, and following an initial consultation I will suggest the number of Reflexology sessions I think we should undertake.

What are your fees and availability?

Reflexology sessions for individuals last 50 minutes and cost £60 per session. I also provide a limited number of appointments for those on low-income; contact me to enquire about availability.

Note that if you want to cancel an appointment I require 48 hours’ notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed. I accept payment in cash, by cheque or by bank transfer.

Can you diagnose my health problems?

Reflexologists cannot claim to diagnose or cure, but during a treatment we get 'feedback' as to which parts of the body are working well and which are not. Sometimes Reflexology will highlight a specific area which is struggling or working hard to maintain your wellbeing; if a particular reflex point shows this kind of reaction I'll discuss it with you at the end of the session.

What happens in a treatment? Do I need to undress?

Reflexology is performed entirely on the feet, ankles or hands, so the most you’ll have to do is take off your socks and roll up your trousers! During the treatment the client lies on their back on a reclining chair, supported by pillows and covered with a soft blanket to keep them warm.

And don’t worry - reflexology doesn't tickle! Many clients come to me with ticklish feet or worried about their feet being touched, but find they can relax and enjoy the benefits of Reflexology.

Does reflexology hurt?

You might find some areas feel sensitive to the touch, but Reflexology does not involve hard pressing in the way something like a sports massage might. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, noticing how they feel, the temperature and colour. All these things play a part in understanding which areas of your body - as reflected through your feet - require a bit more care and attention.

Should I keep on having Reflexology?

Not necessarily, but after an initial course of treatment many people choose to check in monthly for a top-up, to help maintain their general wellbeing, or as a scheduled 'de-stress'. Other clients will get back in touch if they start feeling aches and pains, arranging treatments as and when they need them.
