Learn Reiki. Experience it. Make it your own.
Personalised Reiki training in Bideford, North Devon, with one-to-one and small-group courses for Reiki Levels 1, 2 and Master/Teacher.
Learning Reiki can be a wonderful experience, whether you're simply curious about energy work, looking for something you can use for yourself and your family, or thinking about taking your first steps towards becoming a Reiki practitioner.
But I've always felt that learning Reiki should be about more than attending a course, receiving your attunements and leaving with a certificate.
Because what happens afterwards?
Life gets busy, you forget some of what you've learned, perhaps you start doubting whether you're doing it correctly, and before you know it, something you were really excited about becomes something you rarely use.
And that's exactly why I've designed my Reiki training a little differently.
Rather than trying to fit everything into one day, I want you to have the time to learn, practise, ask questions and, most importantly, discover how Reiki can become part of your everyday life.
My approach is relaxed, practical and supportive, with plenty of space for you to develop your own experience and confidence.
You don't need to have any particular spiritual beliefs or previous experience to begin. Just an open mind and a little curiosity.

A Different Approach to Learning Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese energy-based practice traditionally used for relaxation, meditation and personal wellbeing. At its heart, it encourages us to slow down, become more present and make time for ourselves.
For some people, learning Reiki becomes a personal practice they enjoy for the rest of their lives. Others love sharing it with family and friends, and some feel inspired to take their training further and eventually work with clients.
There isn't one right reason for learning.
What matters to me is that you finish your training feeling comfortable with what you've learned and confident enough to continue exploring it independently.
That's why my courses include practical experience, time for reflection and an opportunity to return with questions after you've had a chance to practice.
You'll receive guidance and resources to support you, but I'll also encourage you to develop your own understanding rather than feeling that you need to rely on someone else for all the answers.

Reiki Level 1 is where it all begins.
This course is suitable for complete beginners, whether you've experienced Reiki treatments before or you're entirely new to energy work.
We'll explore what Reiki is, where it comes from and how it's traditionally practised, before moving into the practical side of working with Reiki for yourself and others.
The emphasis at this level is on developing your own personal practice.
What you'll learn:
Following your first training day, you'll begin a 21-day period of self-Reiki practice.
In Reiki traditions, this is sometimes referred to as the 21-day cleansing period. I prefer to approach it as an opportunity to practise, reflect and become familiar with Reiki in your own time.
You'll receive a specially designed journal to accompany you through these 21 days.
It will encourage you to reflect on your experiences, notice what you enjoy or find challenging, and become more aware of the time and space you're making for yourself.
There are no right or wrong experiences, and you're not expected to feel anything extraordinary.
The purpose is simply to help you begin making Reiki your own.
After your period of self-practice, we'll meet again to explore how you've been getting on.
You'll have the opportunity to discuss your journal, ask questions, practise your techniques and revisit anything you're unsure about.
We'll also look at how you might continue using Reiki in a way that works for your lifestyle.
I want you to leave feeling that Reiki is something you're comfortable using, rather than something you've learned but aren't quite sure what to do with.

Reiki Level 2 is for those who have completed Reiki Level 1 and feel ready to develop their skills and understanding further.
While Level 1 is primarily about establishing your own practice, Level 2 introduces additional techniques and develops your confidence in offering more structured treatments to others.
We'll explore the traditional Reiki symbols, distance Reiki, treatment planning and the practical considerations involved in working with other people.
I also believe that confidence comes through experience.
That's why your Level 2 training includes practical case studies, giving you the opportunity to use what you've learned, receive feedback and develop your approach.
What you'll learn:
Following your training, you'll complete three case studies, each involving three Reiki treatments with the same person.
This gives you the opportunity to practise what you've learned across nine treatments, gain experience and begin developing your own approach.
You'll document your sessions, reflect on what you noticed, gather appropriate client feedback and consider what you've learned throughout the process.
Your case studies will then be submitted for review, with written feedback to support your continued development.
The aim isn't simply to complete a requirement. It's to help you feel more confident and prepared when offering Reiki to others.
Level 2 is delivered across two training days, allowing time for learning, discussion and practical experience.
You'll receive a comprehensive manual and case-study templates to support your learning.

Reiki Master/Teacher training is for those who have completed Reiki Levels 1 and 2 and feel ready to explore Reiki at a more advanced level.
For some people, this is a natural continuation of their own personal development and Reiki practice. For others, it's the beginning of learning how to teach Reiki and support future students.
We'll explore the traditional Master teachings, advanced Reiki techniques and the responsibilities that come with passing Reiki on to others.
This training also considers what it means to become a teacher, not simply in terms of what you know, but how you communicate, demonstrate techniques and support someone else's learning.

Choose How You Would Like to Learn
Everyone learns differently, which is why I offer both individual and small-group Reiki training.
If you prefer learning at your own pace, with the freedom to ask questions and explore your experiences in a completely private setting, individual training might be the perfect option.
You'll have my undivided attention throughout your training, and we can tailor the experience to suit your needs and learning style.
I also offer Reiki Levels 1 and 2 in small groups of between two and four students.
Learning alongside others can be a lovely experience, particularly when you're exploring something new.
You'll have the opportunity to practise together, share experiences, learn from one another and build confidence in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
Groups are deliberately kept small so everyone has space to participate, ask questions and receive individual guidance.
You can join a planned group course or enquire about organising training with a few friends.
If you already know you'd like to complete both Reiki Levels 1 and 2, you can book them together and save £50 on the combined course fees.
Private Reiki Levels 1 & 2: £640
Normally £690.
Small-Group Reiki Levels 1 & 2: £470 per person
Normally £520.
There's no need to rush from one level to the next. I encourage students to spend time developing their Level 1 practice before progressing, so they can build on their experience and feel ready for the next stage.

About Your Reiki Teacher
I'm Jill, a Reiki Master Teacher, Clinical Reflexologist and holistic practitioner based in Northam, near Bideford in North Devon.
I've spent over ten years working with people through complementary therapies, energy work and personal development, and one of the things I've come to appreciate most is that everyone experiences things differently.
I love the practical side of teaching Reiki, but I also enjoy the conversations, the questions and those moments when someone begins to feel more confident in their own abilities.
My teaching style is relaxed and down to earth. You don't need to know the right terminology, have had any unusual spiritual experiences or feel that you already understand energy work.
We'll start with where you are.
I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, exploring your experiences and discovering how Reiki works for you.
And while I'll provide the knowledge, guidance and practical experience, what you choose to do with Reiki afterwards is entirely your own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Not at all. Reiki Level 1 is designed for beginners, and you don't need any previous knowledge of energy work.
No. People come to Reiki for all sorts of reasons. Some are interested in spirituality, while others are simply curious about learning a gentle practice that encourages relaxation and personal reflection.
You can explore Reiki without adopting any particular belief system.
Following Reiki Level 1, you'll be encouraged to practise self-Reiki regularly and use your journal to reflect on your experiences.
It's an opportunity to develop confidence, become familiar with your practice and explore how Reiki fits into your life. It isn't a medical detox, and there is no expectation that you'll experience particular emotional or physical changes.
Absolutely. You don't need to become a practitioner or have any plans to offer treatments to others.
Many people learn Reiki because they want something meaningful they can practise for themselves or share with their family.
I recommend giving yourself enough time to become comfortable with Reiki Level 1 before moving on.
The 21-day practice period is a starting point, but there's no need to rush. We can discuss when you feel ready to continue.
Reiki Level 2 helps develop the practical skills and experience involved in offering treatments to others.
However, professional practice may involve further training, additional case-study requirements, suitable insurance and meeting the standards of your chosen professional body. Your course certificate does not automatically provide professional registration or accreditation.

If you are considering working together, the first step is to book a Wellbeing Insights Consultation.
Sessions take place at my clinic in Northam, near Bideford in North Devon, offering clinical reflexology and Reiki therapy for women experiencing stress, tension and burnout. Many clients travel from Barnstaple and across North Devon, including Bishops Tawton, Umberleigh, South Molton, Braunton, Croyde, Fremington, Instow, Appledore, Westward Ho!, Bude and Exmoor.
Everyone is different and the response to Reflexology can be immediate or sometimes take longer than one appointment, but often benefits can be seen after 4-5 sessions. Regular weekly treatments are best for the body properly beginning the self-healing process, and following an initial consultation I will suggest the number of Reflexology sessions I think we should undertake.
Reflexology sessions for individuals last 50 minutes and cost £60 per session. I also provide a limited number of appointments for those on low-income; contact me to enquire about availability.
Note that if you want to cancel an appointment I require 48 hours’ notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed. I accept payment in cash, by cheque or by bank transfer.
Reflexologists cannot claim to diagnose or cure, but during a treatment we get 'feedback' as to which parts of the body are working well and which are not. Sometimes Reflexology will highlight a specific area which is struggling or working hard to maintain your wellbeing; if a particular reflex point shows this kind of reaction I'll discuss it with you at the end of the session.
Reflexology is performed entirely on the feet, ankles or hands, so the most you’ll have to do is take off your socks and roll up your trousers! During the treatment the client lies on their back on a reclining chair, supported by pillows and covered with a soft blanket to keep them warm.
And don’t worry - reflexology doesn't tickle! Many clients come to me with ticklish feet or worried about their feet being touched, but find they can relax and enjoy the benefits of Reflexology.
You might find some areas feel sensitive to the touch, but Reflexology does not involve hard pressing in the way something like a sports massage might. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, noticing how they feel, the temperature and colour. All these things play a part in understanding which areas of your body - as reflected through your feet - require a bit more care and attention.
Not necessarily, but after an initial course of treatment many people choose to check in monthly for a top-up, to help maintain their general wellbeing, or as a scheduled 'de-stress'. Other clients will get back in touch if they start feeling aches and pains, arranging treatments as and when they need them.
